Big Sur artist Hans Apelqvist was born in
Stockholm, Sweden. fascination with form
and precision guided him to study the ancient art of silversmithing.
While pursuing this activity, he produced a limited collection of
innovative jewelry and orfevrerie, combining rock crystal, gold and
silver.
In the early 1980’s his
passion for nature brought him to beautiful Big Sur, where he studied
sculpture and assisted master sculptor Loet Vanderveen.
The present work of Hans
is inspired by the magnificent wildlife of California coast.
